Birkby Junior School

Welcome to this special section of our school website, designed solely for our New Year 3 pupils and families who will be joining us in September.

We know that it can be an anxious time for parents, carers and children but we also hope that many of you will be excited about starting school with us too. We have lots of plans in place to support your child's transition to Birkby Junior School - below are a list of dates and activties which we have organised:

• Monday 9th June: Mrs Manser (Year 2 Lead) and Mrs Farrington (Year 3 Lead) will meet to discuss allocation of classes.
• Thursday 19th June: Extra transition visit for identfied pupils. Please note, this will only be for pupils who have already recieved a letter from Miss Gallagher and Mr Henshaw (Birkby Junior School SENCOs).
• Monday 23rd June: The Year 3 teachers will be visiting Birkby Infant School to give a presentation to Year 2 about life at Birkby Junior School.
• Wednesday 25th June: Coffee morning for the new Year 3 parents @ Birkby Junior School. This will start at 9am and will finish at 10am.
• Tuesday 1st July: Common Transfer Day. All Year 2 pupils will visit Birkby Junior School to spend the day with their new class and new class teacher. Please see the letter for more details.
• Thursday 19th July: Extra transition visit for identified pupils. Please note, this will only be for pupils who have already recieved a letter from Miss Gallagher and Mr Henshaw (Birkby Junior School SENCOs).
